Letter carriers picking up Toys for Tots this weekend

Tampa, Florida -- Marines and letter carriers are hoping to fill a South Tampa warehouse with toys for Bay Area kids through Saturday's Toys for Tots drive.

Helping kids in Tampa Bay have a great Christmas couldn't be simpler.

On Saturday, December 3rd, leave a new, unwrapped toy (or leave several toys!) next to your mailbox.

Letter carriers in Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco, Hernando, and Manatee counties will collect the toys and hand them over to Toys for Tots.

State Farm supports Good Neighbor Toy Drive

Tampa, FL -- State Farm has announced that it is joining forces with Metropolitan Ministries to help those less fortunate in the Tampa Bay area.

From now until Dec. 9, you can drop off new, unwrapped toys at State Farm agents' offices in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties.

The Wish List includes:

Babies/Toddlers (0-4 years old): Toys, new clothing, diapers & wipes, and baby blankets

Man robs two stores in 5 minutes

Tampa, FL -- Hillsborough detectives are searching for a man who robbed two convenience stores less than five minutes apart Wednesday morning.

According to detectives, around 2:47 a.m., the man entered the 7-Eleven store, at 8305 West Hillsborough Ave., displayed a handgun and demanded money. Then, around 2:51 a.m., he entered the Chevron Gas Station, at 6601 Hanley Road, in the same fashion.

Police say he fled both stores with an undisclosed amount of money in a dark blue Hyundai Elantra.

Police identify Fifth Third Bank robber

Tampa, FL -- Hillsborough detectives have identified the man suspected of robbing the Fifth Third Bank in Carrollwood Monday.

According to detectives, 33-year-old Robert Irving Hubbard, of 6501 South Westshore Blvd., was identified through surveillance footage as the man who entered the bank, presented a demand note to the teller and then fled in a 2001 Ford Taurus with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police have recovered the vehicle.

Hubbard is described as 6'1", with a medium build, red hair and blue eyes.
