Ronald J. Koster graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S. degree and earned his law degree from the University of Colorado in 1971.

Before establishing the law firm of Ronald J. Koster, P.A. in 1998, he was a partner in other law firms in the field of Social Security private practice for over ten years. Prior to private practice he served with the Social Security Administration for fifteen years, from 1973-1988. The last ten years were as a federal government lawyer with SSA's Office of Hearings and Appeals.
