Man killed in crash with scooter and bicyclist on July 4 | News

Lake Magdalene, Florida -- A man riding a motorcycle was killed on the night of July 4 after his motorcycle crashed into a scooter and bicyclist.

Deputies say the crash occurred when Randall Veiten was crossing Capital Drive on his bicycle as Poblito Pickering was turning left onto Patriot Place from southbound North Boulevard on his scooter.  Pickering stopped or slowed in the northbound lane when he saw Veiten in his path. 

It was then Thomas Hamilton who was heading north on his Harley Davidson motorcycle hit Veiten's scooter which then hit Pickering. 

Hamilton, 59, died at the scene. Pickering, 21, and his passenger, Shannon Haughton, 18, were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital and Veiten, 46, refused treatment.
