Carrollwood, Florida - The Carrollwood Cultural Center is holding auditions for "Goodbye Charlie"
"The Carrollwood Cultural Center's MAS Community Theatre will hold auditions for the comedy "Goodbye Charlie" Monday, July 23 and Tuesday, July 24 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Center, located at 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa.
The cast will include four males and three females, ranging in age from 35 to 55.
Written by George Axelrol, "Goodbye Charlie" is the story about Charlie, a caddish womanizer with a foul mouth and taste for booze. Killed hightailing it from a lover's husband's yacht, Charlie "returns" as a woman (cigar in hand) and gets a second chance at life and love.
Lauran Becall and Debbie Reynolds played the title role in this knockabout farce by the author of The Seven Year Itch - Becall on Broadway and Reynolds in the 1964 film with Tony Curtis.
The Carrollwood Cultural Center's MAS Community Theatre will produce the show in partnership with Samuel French, Inc. for two weekends: September 28 through September 30 and October 5 through October 7. The show is being directed by Ruth Levy who directed "Murder's in the Heir" with MAS Community Theatre in February 2012.
